WHAT IS ID WEEKEND:

ID Weekend is a two-day parent/child retreat for 5th-grade through 7th-grade students designed to encourage meaningful conversations between parents and children about identity, gender, and sex. If you’ve wanted to talk to your son or daughter about God’s plan for them in regard to these topics or if you’ve initiated these conversations and want to keep them going, ID Weekend is for you! To prepare, parents will receive resources and training from our Pastors. Along with meaningful dialogue, you’ll have the opportunity to spend 1:1 time with your child and make lasting memories together.

PRAY:

James 1:5 says that if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given. So before reaching for a resource, skimming over the schedule, or planning your packing list, set aside some time to pray specifically for this weekend.

PREPARE:

There will be several books and a curriculum to help you prepare for the weekend.

The first book is "Mom, Dad... What's Sex" by Jessica Thompson and Joel Fitzpatrick.

The second book is "Before I Was Born" by Carolyn Nystrom

The third book is "What's the Big Deal" by Stan and Brenna Jones

The fourth book is "Gender" by Brian Seagraves and Hunter Leavine
